Ok this is going to sound weird but it really works! The other day my son got stung in the face by a yellow jacket. A friend of mine was here and she yelled put mustard on it! I was like ok sure. But in my mind I was thinking OMG this is crazy. So I slathered his face with mustard and left it on there until it dried then washed his face.
My husband had been stung at the same time and he didn't put mustard on it or anything on it. (such a man) Anyway by the next morning my dh's arm was really red and swollen and my sons face never swelled.
I said something to my sil who is a nurse and she had heard it too. She also said you can put an onion up to the sting and the onion will actually change colors as it draws the stuff out.
HTH

do you think it works as well for mosquito bites? My son, seems to be like his dad.....he gets bit a LOT and then it turns into a huge, raised welt! This past weekend was hot, so he had no shirt on and got two bites on his back. They swelled up and REALLY itched and bothered him.....poor guy!

I would think it would work to draw out any toxins!

Wow - that is awesome.
SB - I am the oposite. I can get bit and it does not turn itchy or red. Isn't that weird?
But I have had BAD reactions to bee stings.
