I need some ideas for a pre-thanksgiving dinner with my dh's family. We are going to do a ham since I think they are easier than a turkey. I'd love to hear what you have.

We do pretty much the same as the pp, but I wanted to add our local flavor to the list.
Oysters are in season this time of year, so my mom always makes an oyster stuffing and last year we added padded oysters (breaded and fried) to the menu as well. It's a hit with oyster lovers. The rest of us avoid them.
Not sure if you can get fresh ones in your area but thought I'd mention it.

If you still want to do Turkey, Jennie-O makes these turkeys called "Oven Ready." You don't have to do any prep (except remove the outer wrapping, they're already in an oven bag)--just stick it in the oven and cook. I haven't tried them myself but I hear they're pretty good too. Definitely something to think about!

I'm leaning more and more toward turkey. I want the gravy and the potatoes!
