IMO, for ages 1 and 3, you can't go wrong with Little People toys. My seven year old still plays with them on occasion!
Another idea is the V.Smile Baby and the V.Smile. We are getting our 3 and 7 year old the V.Smile as a joint gift. It's a toy that definitely has the opportunity to grow with your kids, and you can get many different games to go with them.
For DH, I always try to stick with what my dh likes (i.e. computer gadgets/games). If you know there is something he really enjoys, get him something to go along with that.
For grandparents: Personalized gifts, such as a photo calendar or photobook with pics of them and your kids.
Co-workers: Maybe a gift certificate to somewhere you know they enjoy? I guess it depends on how close you are to them.

My 3 year old is making out like a bandit this year for Christmas. He's getting a Spiderman computer, a fisher-price digital camera, an crayola eisel with chalkboard and some little stuff. Can you tell I had a 20% off coupon for TRU? LOL!! My almost 1 year old is harder to shop for. He's getting some blocks, a little tikes sports set, a barnyard talking penguin. Of course it's not like my kids need any toys. Our family room is overflowing now. The grandparents get a photo calendar each year and start hinting about it in August LOL!!! I have no idea what to get dh this year. Lois

Ugh my dd is pointing everything out in the Toys R Us booklet we got in the mail over the weekend. She just keeps saying I want this, and this, and this. Or ooooh thats so cool I need that. She is funny though watching her look through the booklet she says "Lets skip the "boy" stuff" LOL

Cute - so far this is where I am:
Daycare (I need to do for 10 with the teachers/aids/swimming teachers/church teachers) - Antibacterial Hand Lotion - its 3 for $10 at Bath and Body works, so still in my budget (and practical since they deal with sneezing sniffling kids all day!)
DS (3): Shake and Go Race Track, new lunch box, and probably the Cars move DD (1): TMX Elmo, new lunch box, Little Mermaid
My sister got DS the Leapster (the one for older kids I think) and DD a animal thing.
DH I think I might do a good bottle of wine and maybe one of those wine fridges if I can find a good price on it.
