Did I spell that right? Anyway, these are super easy--great for having guests over (especially with wine!!) or to bring to those get-togethers where you're just not sure what to bring.
All you need: Red grapes Havarti Cheese Toothpicks
Cut the cheese into small chunks (about half the size of the grape). Or if you forget to tell your husband that you don't want the deli to slice it (okay I might have done that last time), just cut the slices into strips and roll them tightly.
The idea is to stick the toothpick through the grape and then the cheese (cheese is at the bottom). It's simple. It's DELICIOUS!! A hit with everyone from toddlers to teenagers to in-laws.

Can you use any other cheese? I've never had havarti and I'm a little nervous to try it. Also how far in advance do you think you can make these?

I've tried it with a couple other cheeses and it just wasn't right. Havarti is perfect with it. Also great with wine. Check with your deli--maybe they'll let you taste some. What I've done in the past is plucked and washed all the grapes, put them in a baggie. Then cut the cheese and put that in a baggie. I usually try to assemble them as close to when they'll be eaten as possible, but you can also assemble them and carefully cover them in plastic.

Ok I tried the cheese in the deli tonight. My kids absolutely love it. I thought it was ok - very strong cheese. I guess it will grow on me. I'll just get everything ready to assemble like you said and that should save some time the day of the party. thanks again!

These were a hit. I had a lot of people take off the grape and just eat the cheese. I assembled them the night before and stored them in an airtight container and they were fine. Thanks again!
