We are thinking about doing an extended family group trip. It would be 10 adults and 5 kids. We are thinking maybe a cruise? Or possibly Mexico? We want something fairly reasonable in price, easy to get to from the west coast, and doesn't require a lot of 'going places' once you get there (the group is hard to coordinate - so someplace that you just go to the pool every day)

A cruise is a great idea if the kids are 5+. Unless you go on a Disney Cruise which are pricey, there really isn't much for kids to do. There are some nice resorts in Cancun but again not a lot for kids.
Beaches has some of those family resorts that look nice.

I was starting to look at a family friendly Club Med - some friends did that in Ixtapa with their kids and had a GREAT time

I love Arizona! Perfect in the hot summer, because most of the resorts have their own water parks on location.
I don't recommend cruises for kids younger that 5-6 years old. They don't have much fun unless is Disney Cruise like someone mentioned before.
