I have a flight ALONE with a very active 1 year old and a 3 year old (just turned 1 and 3) in a couple weeks. I am scared to death of travel with the 1 year old - she has NO interest in toys or snacks, all she wants to do is go. She won't sit for 5 minutes on my lap, let alone a whole plane ride. Buying her a seat at 1/2 price would be over $300, and just way outside my budget, plus, on the 2nd flight, she would be alone (the plane is 2 seats and 1 seat). Plus, dragging a carseat alone changing planes would be hard. Any suggestions - I'm scared to death! Amy

Rely on the kindness of strangers. If someone offers to help take them up on it. Also make sure to take the stroller to the gate they can check it in there for you. Often a flight attendent will help too if they are available. What about putting her in a baby bjorn carrier or something like that? Not sure if she is too big. Also give her a bottle or drink at take off if at all possible to help her ears. That also will take a little time. The key is probably to keep the 3 year old busy so you can concentrate on the 1 year old. Drugs? They really need to come up with baby valium. Just kidding. Hugs. Lois
