Legendary singer-songwriter Daryl Hall just released his 5th solo album called “Laughing Down Crying”. As a longtime fan of Hall & Oates, I was excited and curious about this new album. So far, I love it! It’s been great hearing Daryl’s signature voice on these fun pop tunes. The new album feels fresh and current while still maintaining Daryl’s signature style and amazing songwriting. Did you know that Hall & Oates are considered the “Number One Selling Duo” in music history? I believe it! I remember listening to “Rich Girl” and “Private Eyes” over and over again when I was younger.
Lately, Daryl’s been busy making waves as a “tastemaker” for up and coming talent as the music host and executive producer of his smash hit web television series, Live From Daryl’s House. The show airs air every Saturday and Sunday (check your local listings) or you can watch them online at www.LiveFromDarylsHouse.com.
In this new album, you will hear that his voice is still as incredible as it was on “Sara Smile” many years ago. And I love the fact that it’s an album I can pop into the CD player and listen to with my kids. The songs are soulful and catchy. He partnered with some incredible producers that have also worked with Jennifer Lopez, Billy Joel, and Ricky Martin, and it really shows when you listen to the songs.
