Hi, I'm Amber, and like Tera, just realized I never introduced myself even though I'm also on staff! S hame on me! I live in Southeastern Kentucky and have a wonderful DH and 3 beautiful kids, Rachel (7), Becca (3) and Andrew (1 mth). I work part-time with the county school system's afterschool program. I am in charge of providing their afterschool snack and physical activity. Working in the school is definitely both challenging and rewarding at the same time, but I really enjoy what I do. However, I'm currently on maternity leave, but will be returning back to work in about 3 weeks.

Hi! My name is Karen. I have 2 kids, Madelyn who is 2 1/2 and Joshua who is 12 months old. I work full time as a Web Manager for a large retailer. Currently, my mom watches the kids 4 days a week, and they go to a babysitter the other day. This was a recent change to provide my mom a break and more than likely in the future we will up it by at least a day. The dept I work for isn't always the most family friendly -- it will be great to find some support of other moms who face the same challenges. Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome Karen!!!
My mom watched my son the first 18 months, how wonderful that your babies can be with your mom most of the time!
When I had my first child there were no other moms at my company. Now, more than three years later, there are still only two of us. I'm lucky to work for a small company that's very understanding, but I completely understand feeling alone in your workin' mommy role.
I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome Karen! The sitter transition sounds like a nice way to give your mom a break--how cool that she can do that for you!

Hi Karen. I manager the web development for my company also. I have a similar arrangement. My mom watches both boys three afternoons, my hubby watches them in the mornings since he is on 2nd shift and my company allows me flextime to work at home one afternoon and off Friday afternoons. I'm very lucky to have a flex schedule I know.
