Anyone doing anything fun? Family friendly or not? We are going to get together with a group of other families and celebrate East Coast New Year (9 p.m. our time) Should be fun! Amy

East Coast new years? how creative!
No plans as of yet. But the 9pm celebration sounds like a great idea!

Nothing here. Maybe if I can get the kids to bed at a reasonable time, Dh and I can have a glass of wine in front of the fireplace and just talk and chill out.

We had a small family celebration. We did a floor picnic (spread a big blanket on the living room floor) where we had all sorts of snack-type foods, many of which we don't usually get. They included a couple types of cheeses, plus a baked cheese dip, spinach dip, bruschetta, fruit, crackers, baguettes, Hawaiian bread, etc. Our preschooler thought it was awesome. She got a juice box and Mom and Dad got margaritas Then the kids went to bed and dh and I watched a movie and played Scene It. Overall uneventful, but nice in its own way. And I think it's a tradition our kids will look forward to (although I still hope to get out for New Year's Eve every few years or so!) AD

We did something really similar to AD. I made a bunch of snack food that we usually just reserve for guests! LOL We sat in the floor and watched the Bears play. I even made a punch and we all had some the kids thought that was the best part because we were all drinking the same thing.
